Baby on Board

Baby Carlito logged almost 10,000 miles since our last entry!! We flew to Lihue, Hawaii to spend Thanksgiving with Carlos' family in Hanalei Bay. Unfortunately after making a 14 hour journey it turns out that he doesn't like the ocean much! At least not yet. Hanalei Bay is infested with dedicated surfers and one woman who was 55 and still surfing everyday said that she took her baby boogie boarding at 6 months! what?! yep, she put those little arm floaties on and rode waves. Carlito isn't even eating cereal yet, let alone riding waves!

We had fun, but the plane ride was L-O-N-G and short of beating me up before getting on the plane there wasn't much more the airline could do to make our trip more uncomfortable. Besides charging for every service beyond the pressurized cabin air they felt that it was a good idea to seat Carlos and I in middle seats apart from each other even though we had a "lap child." On the 4.5 hours back from Phoenix to DCA I sat in a crappy middle seat between two big guys with the baby on my lap the whole time. He did amazingly well - in fact I think he did better than I did...

Since being back we went for the 4 month doctor appt and shots and the big news is that he is slipping in the rankings! He is now only in the 97th percentile for weight and height at 18lbs 6 oz and 27 inches.
